2016 Inkwell Infidels Primitivo

Review by Gary Walsh, WineFront

There’s a dish that used to be turned out at Billy Kwong – Crispy Skin Duck with Blood Plum Sauce – that I loved to eat, back in the day. I’m thinking this wine would go well with that dish.

Musky perfume, aniseed, sweet and sour plum, spice and new leather, chocolate, a touch of toasty vanilla oak. Medium bodied, squishy plum flavour and texture, suede-like tannin, lovely tang to the acidity, and an earthy tannic finish of satisfaction and go-again enthusiasm. Some dried herb in there too. Lovely. Feels good. Tastes good.
