The Winefront - review by Gary Walsh

I forgot how it was sealed and tried ramming a corkscrew through the wax. Curses, Dooders, foiled again!

I’m not sure I like this nearly so much as the excellent 2012, though maybe it’s the cork, or me on the day. Peppered prunes, dusty wood, some violet-like perfume, tar and blackberry jam. Thick and fleshy, chocolate and violets, firm and drying grainy tannin, earthy and spicy, with a pretty long finish. Feels a little flat – steamroller over bitumen – but has an undeniably large personality.
