the wine front - review by Campbell Mattinson

From Dudley Brown: “Inkwell Road to Joy is a (86/14) blend of Shiraz and Primitivo – the sort of vinous cross border miscegenation Australians should revel in. Matured for eighteen months in oak (17% new French, 14% old American, 69% old French) barrels prior to eight months of bottle ageing. 3150 bottles produced.”

It’s a beautiful drink. It’s been judged to perfection. Buy, drink, enjoy. Violets, squishy ripe blackberries, a waft of vanilla, rust and spice. It fills the mouth with gorgeous, pretty, hefty flavour but then hones down to a finely-managed finish. Quality without a shadow of a doubt.
