Visitors (Non-Registered Guests)

Visitors are NOT allowed under any circumstances absent specific written consent from hotel management, for any period of time in the hotel grounds or suites for the safety and privacy of all guests. Guests will be asked to vacate the hotel if this condition is breached, without refund. A fee of $500 will be charged to the credit card provided.

Child Policy

The suites are unsuitable for infants and children. All guests must be at least 18 years old.

Check In

From 3pm to 5pm. Different arrival arrangements are possible when the suite is available and if the hotel is contacted prior to arrival during commercial hours (Adelaide time) or by email, at least 24 hours before arrival. Guests who fail to check in during our check-in hours and fail to communicate a need to check in after 5pm will be marked as 'no-show'.

Check Out

Until 10am. We do not offer late check out. Charges will apply when the room is not vacant on time.

Pet Policy

Pets are NOT allowed on the property. Daisy, our friendly dog, is always with us in the wine tasting room and loves having guests on the property.

Cancellation Policy

Upon reservation, payment is required to guarantee your reservation. It is advised that all travellers have travel insurance. In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your trip, please advise us in writing as soon as possible.

Our policy refers to direct bookings only and does not apply to reservations made through third party channels (e.g. Expedia, etc.). For these, please refer to the cancellation policy for your reservation with them, at the time of your booking.

Direct Bookings Cancellation Policy

15 days or more prior to arrival date: No charge (100% refundable).

14 days to 8 days prior to arrival date: 50% of full stay.

7 days or fewer prior to arrival: 100% of full stay (non-refundable).

All booking cancellation requests must be made via email to hotel@inkwellwines.com. Days prior to arrival means written requests received within business hours (up to 5pm Adelaide time). Cancellation requests received after 5pm will be considered to have been received on the following day.

If you do not receive a written reply from us within 24 hours, it means we did not receive your email. In this case, please follow up your request immediately to ensure it is being processed on the correct date. It is the guest's responsibility to ensure the email was received.

Date change requests within the cancellation period are not possible and will be treated as a cancellation request; penalty fees apply.

Illness-Related Cancellations

While our standard cancellation policy applies to cancellations due to illness (including infectious or communicable diseases), we will endeavour to minimise any financial impact where possible.

After you cancel in writing by email and receive confirmation from us, we will re-advertise your room. If we successfully re-book the room for the same dates, we will refund you any monies paid, less any third-party commission if applicable.

The more notice you provide, the greater the likelihood we can re-book and process a refund.

This policy does not apply to vouchers. Vouchers are non-refundable.

In-Suite Wine

A selection of Inkwell wines is available in your suite. Open or missing bottles will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of reservation.

Damage and Missing Items

Guests are responsible for any missing, broken, or damaged items in the suite. Charges will be applied to the credit card provided at the time of reservation.

Indoor furniture must not be taken outside, including to the deck area. Damage resulting from outdoor use of indoor furniture will be charged accordingly.

Digital Key (Keyless Registration)

Digital Key through a smartphone app can be provided to guests arriving after hours. Upon request, or when arriving after-hours, confirmed guests will receive an email with instructions on how to register, download the app, and gain access to the Hotel California Road using 'SALTO KS' keyless access. A smartphone with a valid number will be required to set up this system.

All guests will receive a physical fob as a replacement for the digital key. The key fob must be returned to the hotel at departure. Unreturned fobs will be charged to the provided credit card ($75 each).

Payment Policy

To secure your booking, a valid credit card is required at the time of booking. The balance of payment is required at check-in with sundry items due on departure. You will be held responsible for any damage caused intentionally to any of the facilities of the property. Name on the card and reservation must match. When using commercial credit cards, further information may be required.

Taxes

All taxes and local charges are included in the room price.

Guarantee Policy

A credit card is required for this reservation.

Reservation Modifications

We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservation contains or resulted from a mistake or error.

Non-Smoking and Fire Safety Policy

100% Smoke-Free Facility

For safety and to ensure our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create odours which are unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and that are difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture, we do not permit smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes) in our facility.

Smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited in the suites and on the deck, as smoke travels into the room. A Designated Smoking Area is provided away from the building. Guests are encouraged to notify staff immediately if they detect cigarette or other objectionable odours in their room..

Outdoor Fire Prohibition

Open flames, including candles, fire pits, barbecues, and any ignition sources, are strictly prohibited on the deck and all outdoor areas of the property. This applies at all times, regardless of whether a Total Fire Ban is in force, due to the significant fire risk to the vineyard and surrounding land.

Indoor Prohibition – Candles, Incense and Essential Oils

Candles, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporising, etc.) are prohibited in the suites. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine assessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refund.

We ask that guests refrain from use of patchouli oil and other strong-smelling plant-based or synthetic items or products that cause the room to be taken out of service due to objectionable odour. Guests will be asked to vacate the hotel if this condition is breached, without refund. A fee of $500 will be charged to the credit card provided. Additional charges for repairs, guest compensation and loss of revenue may apply in addition to the fee.

Flower and Rose Petals

Flower petals are not allowed in the room (on bed or carpet) or in the bathtub. They stain carpet, linen, and towels and can cause blockages in the bathtub. Fine: $300. When the suite cannot be cleaned or used by the next guest, additional charges for guest compensation and loss of revenue may apply.

Damage and Penalty Charges

We reserve the right, and you hereby authorise us, to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including without limitation: property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking or fire violation fee ($500), cooking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, loss of revenue, and other applicable charges.

Acceptance of Terms

By completing a reservation at Hotel California Road, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
