2024 Inkwell Pink Cashmere Rosé

from A$32.00

The 2024 Inkwell Pink Cashmere Rosé is our fourth vintage making rosé. In 2024 it is a blend of Mataro and Grenache and we think our best yet. This is a dry textural style of rosé much more in tune with regional expression, like rosés from the North of Spain and the Southwest of France than most Australian rosés. Fermented and aged in egg-shaped concrete tank and stainless steel tanks. It is lovely, textural and fresh. Drink now or up to 2030.

Light pink/orange hues come from about a day on skins. In French, Mataro is known as Mourvedre and in Spain the variety is known as Monastrell. This is a perfect dry and savoury styled wine to be enjoyed chilled. Alc. 12% by Vol. Only 1000 bottles produced.

Halliday Wine Companion Score: 95 points (GOLD)

Halliday Wine Companion review: “Mataro (60%) matured in old barrels, then tank; grenache (40%) in concrete egg. A confident orangey pink, this also confidently avoids all the glossy, ready appeal of so much modern Aus rosé, but without losing any of its appeal. Indeed, it ups the interest and enjoyment for those chasing a little more savouriness for broad gastronomic applications. Wild raspberry, blood orange, cherry, dehydrated mandarin peel, fading rose, allspice, mace and underlying dusty earthy and scrubby herb notes. And properly dry, a lick of tannin a welcoming tensioner. Completely individual and very nice indeed.” Marcus Ellis (Published 11 March 2025)
