2025 Inkwell Tangerine (skin contact white) Viognier

from A$32.00

Inkwell Tangerine Viognier is a skin contact white (or “orange”) wine. We call our s “tangerine”. It is very approachable with a textural and fresh style.

Our Tangerine series of Viognier has become Inkwell’s fastest selling wine. And, while we don’t much talk about critics and wine scores, Ned Goodwin (MW) at Halliday’s Wine Companion gave this wine the highest score of any extended skin contact white wine in Australia in 2021. For us, this wine hits the stylistic sweet spot of escaping the boundaries of its category to just being serious and deliciously drinkable. Wonderful with spicy, creamy or fatty and salty dishes. Drink now or cellar up to 10 years.

Citrus peel scents, stone-fruit, some green herbs, dash of dried apricot, ginger and bergamot. The palate is sweet-feeling dry wine. There’s a grind of chalky tannin, slash of tangerine and a underlaying acidity. It’s fresh, fun, easy to drink. Unfiltered, unfined.
